    Taco Seasoning

Taco seasoning is a simple blend of herbs, salt, and spices that is used to season protein stuffed into tacos, burritos, or quesadillas. Its wonderful combination of zesty, earthy, and salty flavors gives your food just the right amount of Mexican essence.

While this is a very basic recipe, it will add incredible flavors to whatever you season it with. The best part is that you most likely already have most of the required ingredients in your cabinets.

    Ingredients and Substitutions

    taco seasoning ingredients
    • Garlic – I prefer to use granules as opposed to garlic powder.
    • Oregano – Any dry oregano will work for this.
    • Cumin – Ground cumin adds some nice earthy flavors to this.
    • Onion – I prefer to use granules as opposed to onion powder.
    • Chili Powder – A good chili powder will add some nice zesty pepper flavors.
    • Salt – I always use coarse sea salt in my cooking and baking.
    • Pepper – freshly ground or pre-ground black pepper
    • Paprika – Some smoked paprika will add smoky flavors to the rub. You can also use sweet paprika in this.
